This course is designed to prepare students for an undergraduate programme in International Relations. It will cover a range of topics that will develop students' understanding and skills for a degree in International Relations. The course material is based on  the A-Level syllabus.

International Relations represents the study of foreign affairs and global issues among states within the international system, including the roles of states, inter-governmental organizations (IGOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational corporations (MNCs).

It is concerned with the study of a wide range of subjects such as inter-govermental relations, the beliefs and institutions of nations, and the interplay of law and the courts. Studying topics such as public opinion, political decision-making, and ideology, they analyse the structure and operation of government as well as informal political entities.

Because of their understanding of political institutions and administrative processes, students of international relations are well qualified for jobs in a broad range of career areas. These include law, higher education, federal service, state and local government, urban planning, journalism, international organisations, public interest groups, business and industry.
