This course is designed to prepare students for an undergraduate programme in Accounting/Finance. It will cover a range of topics that will develop students' understanding and skills for a degree in Accounting/Finance. The course material is taught from the A-Level syllabus, but is more tailored for an Accounting/Finance degree.

Accounting is the art of recording, summarizing, reporting, and analysing financial transactions. The study of Accounting can lead to many exciting and rewarding career opportunities within both the private and public sector as financial accountants or management accountants. Many people, having achieved their degree, will move on to join one of the professional organisations such as The Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants (ACCA) or The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA) studying further in order to gain full professional qualifications. Many leading business people started their career as accountants.

Accountants offer a wide array of services to their clients. Broadly, these services include public, management, and government accounting, as well as internal auditing. In each of these major fields, however, accountants and auditors continue to carry out the fundamental tasks of the occupation, preparing, analysing, and verifying financial documents in order to provide information to clients.

Accountants and auditors help to ensure that companies and organisations are run efficiently, its records maintained and kept properly and their tare axes paid on time.
